The design of this platform was mindful of the time and resources needed to administer and monitor student progress. The platform is designed to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the teacher and the students. By default, the program includes item sets and protocols derived from the Measures and Interventions for Numeracy Development MIND package. Generally, a set of facts are assigned/rotated throughout the year, dependent on (1) the operation being learned at the time and (2) the level of complexity for that operation (e.g., sums to 8 vs sums to 18). These sets are pre-made based on materials that have been designed by experts in the field.
Screening and benchmarks can be customized in several ways. First, all benchmarked operations can be screened as many time as desired. Simply put, the assignment shows on the learner's dashboard if not yet completed, and if previously completed, this will reset once a future benchmark date is set (e.g., from fall to winter benchmark periods). Second, teachers can select which operations to target (e.g., addition, addition and subtraction) as well as which levels of complexity to target (e.g., sums to 8, sums to 18). Student progress will be available in their individual dashboards, and teachers can monitor progress through the teacher dashboard.
For the sake of convience, Tier 1 practices such as screening may be more efficiently handled by administrators, who may apply grade-wide settings in a far more efficent manner via student tags.
